Upon his return to the house, Pinocchio discovered that the house had vanished. In its place there was a small marbel slab that read: "Here lies the little girl with the blue hair who died of grief for having been abandoned by her little brother Pinocchio."
In a fit of grief, Pinocchio began to pummel the ground, but noticed a large pigeon passing above him. It just so happened that the pigeon knew the whereabouts of his father. He told him that he was building a raft in order to cross the ocean to look for his son. The pigeon offered to carry him for over a thousand miles to meet with his father, but by the time they reached the shore his father had already cast off and began his journey across the sea...
